Hans Christian Sailboats

A LOT of folks have written to me about Hans Christian Yachts, the manufacturer of Candide.  They want to know how she sails (great, even into the wind), what it's like to live on board one (read the rest of this Website for an answer), and if I can provide additional information about her (keep reading...).

Links Specific to Hans Christian Yachts:

First, allow me to provide a few links concerning Hans Christian Yachts:

www.HansChristianYachts.com

This is the official website for the manufacturer.  You can learn an awful lot about the boat from these pages.  Be sure to check out their "Interesting Links" section, which includes a hyperlink back to my site!  I sent an e-mail to the current owner of Hans Christian Yachts and asked him to visit my site.  Next thing I know, he's listed it on the official corporate pages!  Pretty cool!

www.HansChristian.com

This is the site of the Hans Christian Owner's Association.  It is one-stop shopping for all things that are Hans Christian!  Be sure to check out the discussion forum, which includes a search engine.  You can find out just about anything you want to know about these boats by visiting this site.  They were also gracious enough to include a link to my site.

Cloud Nine

Cloud Nine is a Hans Christian 43' Traditional owned by the Deboise/Rose cruising family.  They've been cruising around the West Coast for several years now.

Seiku Home Page

This is a Website that I stumbled across.  Seiku is a 38' Hans Christian Traditional, just like Candide!  I don't think they're liveaboards because the interior photographs don't show any clutter.  Of course, they could be just extremely tidy!  ;-)

Rainbow Dancer

If you want to charter a Hans Christian (or just go for a day sail), are going to be in the Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) area, and happen to be gay, well, joining this crew would be a great way to learn about Hans Christians.

Canopus

This French guy sailed his Hans Christian alone across the Atlantic.  You can read about his adventure at this site (in English or French).

Magazine Articles:

Download these while you can, because I'm not exactly sure if it's legal for me to post them from this site.  The first time I get a threatening letter from an attorney, I'll have to yank these articles:

Hans Christian 33' Traditional reviewed by Yacht Monthly

Hans Christian 38' Traditional reviewed by Practical Sailor

If you're looking to purchase a Hans Christian, I highly recommend that you visit YachtWorld.    This is the première site for buying or selling a boat.  Select "boats for sale" and type in "Hans Christian" as the manufacturer.  You'll find plenty of HC's with tons of pictures.

If you're serious about owning a Hans Christian, I strongly recommend that you join the Hans Christian Owner's Association (HCOA).  They'll send you a package that contains all kinds of information about the history of HC, how HC's are manufactured, where you can get parts, etc.
